MISSIL
the transforming lamp
"MISSIL is a lamp which can create direct and atmosperic light"
The task of this project was to design a lamp which can change its light mood.
MISSIL is a floor lamp made out of curved oak strips. These strips are connected to two steel plates with small wooden sticks. With a special rotation system, the strips can be moved and placed in different positions. The greater the angle the more light is released. The smaller the angle the less light shines through. The result is a special interaction between light and shade. For visualisation I constructed a 3D model of the lamp using "SolidWorks".
